CLASS DESCRIPTION
Taijiquan Class - 陳式心意混元太極拳 Simple 24 Movements
Saturday and Monday
The Simple 24 is the easiest version of the Chen-style movements, and establishes a foundation for the study of Taijiquan before learning the more advanced movements.
Paring down to the basic movements allows a focus on the fundamental body dynamics - opening and closing of the body, rising and sinking, turning left and right, weight change, and being central and upright.
Learning the basic postural principles allows for the eventual full expression of the essence of Taijiquan.
Qigong Class - Hun Yuan Gong 混元功
Sunday
The Hun Yuan Gong set is the most important of the Qigong methods in the Hunyuan Taiji System. Through the movements in the set, students will learn how to improve their movements such as loosening the waist, shoulders, arms and legs, and finding the natural alignment of their bodies.
Through the practice, students will gather qi, transform qi, circulate qi, and store qi. Hun Yuan Gong promotes health and deepens stillness.

ABOUT HUNYUAN TAIJIQUAN
Chenshi Xinyi Hunyuan Taijiquan (陳式心意混元太極拳) is a style of Taijiquan developed by Grandmaster Feng Zhi Qiang (馮志強). Feng was the disciple of two great masters, Hu Yao Zhen (胡耀貞) and Chen Fa Ke (陳發科). Hu Yao Zhen was a famous Chinese medicine doctor, Taoist Qigong and Xinyi Quan (心意拳) master who was considered by many to be the father of modern Qigong. Chen Fa Ke was a 17th generation grandmaster of Chen style Taijiquan.
Hunyuan Taijiquan blends traditional Chen style Taijiquan with elements of Xinyi Quan and Taoist Qigong methods into a comprehensive system, bringing Taijiquan back to its original roots in Qigong.
